Regional Readiness Assessment

your area

Assessment 2026-118-B  ·  Published Aug 7, 2026  ·  Gravitational Monitoring Unit

This jurisdiction has filed no preparedness measures.

Zero of eight required items have been returned for your area ahead of the anomaly window on 12 August 2026 at 14:33:00 UTC.

The Gravitational Monitoring Unit distributed the Level 3 preparedness package to all 3,143 U.S. county-equivalent emergency management offices and 168 international partner agencies on 2 August 2026. It asked for eight things. As of this morning, the office responsible for your area has returned none of them.

This is not unusual. At last count 2,904 of 3,143 offices had filed nothing at all. Most cite the absence of an established hazard category for gravitational events — there is no FEMA declaration type for this, so there is no funding line, so there is no plan.

What This Means for Residents

No siren will sound in your city. No one will stop traffic on your street. Nobody is coming to tell you when to sit down. Every protective action available to you on 12 August is one you take yourself, in your own home, at 14:33:00 UTC.

The preparedness protocol published with Advisory 2026-118 is written to work without any municipal support whatsoever. Read the protocol, then ask your county why the other eight items are still blank.
